The Idaho Genealogical Society is sponsoring this free event which starts at 12:30 pm for the general public. The presentation will be held at the Library! at Hillcrest, located at 5246 West Overland Road, Boise, Idaho.

Preserving Family Personal Papers and Photographs

Ever wonder how to take care of old historical newspapers, documents and photographs that have been handed down in your family through generations? Layce Johnson, Collection Archivist with the Idaho State Historical Society, will present “Preserving Family Personal Papers and Photographs” at the Idaho State Archives Multi-Use Room on Monday, March 11th.

The Idaho Genealogical Society is sponsoring this free event which starts at 11 am for the general public. The Preservation talk will be held in the Multi-Use Room at the Idaho State Archives, 2205 Old Penitentiary Road, Boise, Idaho. Even though the Merle W. Wells Research Center is normally closed on Mondays, the Conference Room will be open on March 11th for the preservation talk. Idaho Genealogical Society Annual Meeting is coming up October 13, 2018 at the Meridian Senior Center, 1920 North Records Way, Meridian, Idaho. We will convene at 8:30 am and have a great program lined up. Watch for the details in your mail, included in your ballot for 2019 officers.

DNA CLASS

Juvanne Martin, past president of the Idaho Genealogical Society will be presenting a class on Thursday the 14th of December 2017 @ 11am.  Location is the Boise Library Branch @ Ustick & Cole. 
Her presentation will be "Ancestral DNA:  connecting your genealogy and family history through DNA testing companies" 
This is a free class, so everyone is invited to participate.

RootsTech 2014

Registration is now open for RootsTech 2014, which will be held February 6­-8, 2014 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. This annual family history conference, hosted by FamilySearch, is a unique global event where people of all ages learn to discover and share their family stories and connections through technology. Over the past three years, RootsTech has grown in popularity with attendees to become the largest family history event in the United States!
